What is Fishculvert?
- Fishculvert is a proprietary, prefabricated, modular fishway that reconnects streams at blocked culverts and small dams. Polymer coated, welded CANADIAN steel assures long service life in harsh conditions.
- Fishculverts are readily available, easily transported, quickly installed and they are very economical.
A standard Fishculvert can be installed at slopes up to 25% (4:1) and we can work with you on custom designs. - Fishculverts pass fish and minnows of all sizes including non-jumping species.
- The Fishculvert is a cost effective and versatile fish ladder system that can be readily installed onto perched culverts, dams and other structures that block fish migration.
What are Fishculverts constructed of
The Fishculvert is fabricated using the lower chord of a six foot diameter Structural Corrugated Steel Pipe (SCSP). Steel culverts have been used for decades across North America for water conveyance projects. We polymer coat the steel after fabrication to provide long service life in harsh conditions.
The Fishculvert system has been scientifically tested to pass a wide range of non- jumping fish species, as well as trout and salmon at slopes up to 25% (4:1).
